Captain Brian began his career in the financial services industry before joining superyachts in 2004. Now having 15 or more years of superyacht experience he’s as passionate as ever about the industry and the incredible places he visits.
Brian has sailed around the world, has crossed the Atlantic many times and is particularly familiar with the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
In his spare time Brian can usually be found sailing or mountain biking if not spending time in his native Ireland.

Lawrence Keith

Dundee, South Africa

Born in the Natal midlands of South Africa, Lawrence was always drawn to the water whether it was lakes rivers or oceans. Over the Last 12 years he has sailed extensively, circumnavigating the globe and crossing the Pacific and Atlantic multiple times. A qualified electrician, Lawrence enjoys an active lifestyle of fishing, cycling, rugby and is an eager pilot, a hobby he pursues in his spare time. He looks forward to bringing his passion for the water and the outdoors to the Joy team.

Lee Easdon

Cornwall, UK

Lee started his training at the famous Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Cornwall where he worked for 5 years, he then moved on to work at 1* and 2* Michelin starred restaurants. Lee has a wide repertoire, which has been expanded through travelling and working in restaurants around the world including Australia, Japan and South East Asia, which developed his passion for Japanese and BBQ food. His hobbies include surfing, photography and paper origami. Lee aims to make a thousand paper origami cranes ‘senbazuru’ by the end of 2020!- Completed!

Nick Street-Brown

Manchester, United Kingdom

Nick is a chef with over 20 years of experience in the restaurant, yachting and private sector. He began learning his craft in his hometown of Manchester. Since then, he has worked all around the world; from a 3 Michelin star restaurant in New York and a boutique château in France to opening a one-hat restaurant in Australia.
In between these ventures Nick has worked in numerous kitchens internationally gaining experience in a multitude of cuisines. Nick enjoys going on adventures with his kids, making sure they have a good taste in music, playing sports, travelling and discovering amazing food.

Patrick O’Toole

Dublin, Ireland

Patrick began his culinary career 7 years ago in Dublin. He also spent two years cooking in Spain, furthering his understanding of modern European cuisine and improving his conversational Spanish. Patrick loves creative cooking and making people happy through his food. Outside of the galley Patrick is an ardent football fan and supports Arsenal football club. He enjoys road cycling and has taken part in charity road races to raise funds for Dublin’s Children Charity. Patrick is also a qualified carpenter and a keen photographer.

Lesley Deinum

Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Born and raised below sea level, Lesley has always felt a strong connection with the sea and upon graduating university in Leisure Management, she decided to get her head above water and join the ever-exciting yachting industry. Within a short two years, she progressed into the role of Chief Stewardess on large yachts ranging from 70-147m.
When she is not on the high seas, Lesley loves to travel to distant countries or take to the slopes on her snowboard. Lesley joined the JOY family in the autumn of 2022, and immediately felt she belonged. She leads her team with passion, is always full of energy and loves to make those around her happy by always going the extra mile.
Her excellent rapport with guests and crew alike will ensure that your time on board is a very happy one in which all your needs are met!

Melissa Schultheiss

Overberg, South Africa

Melissa grew up on an apple and pear farm in the Elgin Valley, South Africa, establishing her love for the outdoors, mountain biking and hiking. She studied Somatology in the Winelands of Stellenbosch, which sparked her curiosity for wine and the service industry. Having joined yachting in 2013, Melissa has completed two new builds and worked on yachts ranging from 45-91m. Throughout her career, Melissa has always strived to run the most welcoming and fluid Interior team. Her creative flare and passion for creating impactful memories will ensure your trip is an unforgettable one.

Alexandra Skipp

Hereford, United Kingdom

Alex joined Joy as a massage therapist in June 2020 and after 18 months progressed to Second Stewardess. Alex has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from the hospitality industry from her previous roles as a Head Spa Therapist on cruise ships and working as cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic.
Alex’s longevity onboard JOY has allowed her to gain a wealth of knowledge throughout the Interior of the boat and Alex looks forward to ensuring you enjoy your time on JOY to the fullest.


Rebecca Cligg

Devon, United Kingdom

Becky grew up in Devon, UK and has been working on yachts since 2019. Prior to this, she worked as an au pair in the South of France and as a chalet host in the French Alps.
Her interests include travelling, running, dancing and yoga. Becky is currently studying for a BSC Geography and Environmental Science degree. She is passionate about providing excellent guest service and strives to ensure that guests get the best possible experience when onboard M/Y Joy.

Kelly Fischer

Cape Town, South Africa

Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, Kelly has been a spa therapist for over 8 years. She specializes in advanced facial and body machinery and is equally as trained to perform a mulitude of treatments such as mani’s, pedi’s, waxing, massages, hammam treatments, tinting, and much more.
She started her yachting career three years ago when she wanted to travel whilst working at the same time, and has since never looked back!
When Kelly is not pampering her clients in the Spa, you can typically find her at a cozy coffee shop, at the gym, or soaking up some sun at the beach.

Alicia Barge

Chester, UK

Alicia holds international qualifications in aesthetics and beauty therapy and is experienced in a wide range of treatments including facials, manicures, pedicures, eye-lash tinting, and waxing. Her massage certifications include Swedish, Hot Stones, Deep Tissue and Sports Massage.
She has been working on large yachts since 2019, combining her upbeat personality and fascination for beauty to the fullest extent.
Alicia is extremely passionate about health and beauty and her passion shows through in her treatments. It is with great pleasure that Alicia offers a range of services to our guests on JOY and is looking forward to welcoming you soon in our Spa!

Christian Rasmussen

Aalborg, Denmark

Christian was born and raised in Denmark but now resides in the beautiful Lima, Peru. Christian has held various positions including five years as a marine engineer, nine years working in offshore oil rigs as a maintenance supervisor before finally moving into the yachting industry. When not in the engine room you will find him unearthing jewels to add to his collection of Lotus cars and wristwatches. His hobbies include exploring nature and working on his home construction and renovations.

Alex Smith

Beverley, UK

Following his education, Alex chose to study Marine Engineering at Warsash Maritime College in Southampton. It is there that he gained his CoC and HnD. After studying Alex considered joining the Royal Navy, However the adventurous life of yachting proved to be his first choice. Alex has worked on board numerous sailing yachts, both in the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas, and has completed many Atlantic crossings. Alex plans to stay in the yachting industry long term and has ambitions to become Chief Engineer. Outside of work he enjoys listening to music and playing instruments, especially guitar.

Mark Baptiste

Watford, UK

At the mere age of 19, Mark joined the Armed Forces. Following his training at the Royal Navy Engineering college he served an impressive 18 years on nuclear submarines. Since then Mark has relocated himself above the ocean and into the yachting industry for the past 4 and a half years. He has a love for travelling, riding his motorbike and walking on Dartmoor National Park. Marc has a keen interest in Astronomy and building up his wristwatch collection, which he’s had now for a number of years.

Graham Baines

Plymouth, UK

Graham has a background in hospitality management and spent three years as a Deck Cadet Officer on commercial vessels. He holds an Officer of the Watch Unlimited Certification and has now chosen to follow in the footsteps of his father, a Superyacht Captain, and pursue a career in the world of luxury yachting. Graham loves being on the water and visiting new places. He enjoys skiing, kayaking and swimming in his spare time.

Richard Dashwood-Simpson

Devon, UK

With over a decade of experience in yachting, Richard brings a wealth of charter experience to an already great team. He enjoys being out on the water ensuring the maximum amount of fun is had at every opportunity. Having a great deck team working alongside him, we ensure that both day and night to give you an amazing time during your stay with high quality service and memories that will last a lifetime. Rich enjoys free diving, skiing and playing the saxophone in his spare time.

Toby Robinson

Cotswolds, UK

Toby has a background in watersports managment and instruction, having spent over a year setting up and managing centres in the UAE. He brings this knowledge and high standard in instruction and leadership to Joy. Watersports have taken Toby all over the world teaching a variety of sports and all levels including: windsurfing, sailing, wakeboarding and waterskiing. Aswell as his love for watersports, Toby has a deep love for the mountains, and in his time off you’ll find him hiking, camping or snowboarding wherever he can. He has brought this strong skill set into yachting and has now completed over 5 years on yachts. Toby joined Joy in 2020 and hasn’t looked back ever since.

James Burrows

Plymouth, United Kingdom

James was brought up in the coastal city of Plymouth where he played golf and football on a high level. At the tender age of 16 he carried out an apprenticeship in boat building and maintenance. After following this career for 9 years he decided to join the yachting industry, working as the Carpenter on classic motor yachts, one of which dating back to 1930. Having furthered his skill set, James passed his OOW exam in 2019, and is now working towards his masters ticket. In his downtime you will find him keeping fit, on the golf course or travelling.

Andrew Malone

Sydney, Australia

Andrew is our most recent addition to the JOY family, hailing from Sydney, Australia.
At the mere age of 16, he put his creative side to work and started a carpentry apprenticeship. After he successfully completed his degree in carpentry, he joined the Royal Australian Navy. Andrew made his way over to the super yacht industry where can bring his passion for carpentry and military experience together. He now is excited to welcome you on board JOY and create a memorable experience for all her guests.


Milo McWilliams

Cornwall, UK

Milo joins us having completed 2 years onboard a 55m charter yacht. A keen learner, Milo achieved his Yacht Masters at the young age of 18 after completing 3 A levels. Milo hopes to progress in his career and become a Captain one day. His hobbies include music, surfing, squash and watersports. He looks forward to ensuring your time onboard is one to remember.

Jaryd Robertson

Cape Town, South Africa

Jaryd grew up in the beautiful city of Cape Town. Living in South Africa, Jaryd has always loved going to the beach, playing sport and socialising with friends.
Jaryd attended university in Stellenbosch , where he obtained honours in Sport Science. During his time at university, Jaryd was a personal trainer and CrossFit coach.
Jaryd joined the yachting industry early in 2022, and is excited to travel the world and meet new people, keeping them fit and healthy!


Benji Ardern

Brighton, UK

Benji has been spending his time living and working in Turkey, Greece and the Middle East, this has given Benji the chance to travel and experience different cultures around the world as well as enhance his skill on the water.
Benji joined the yachting industry so he could continue his passion for travel and being on the water by living on it full time!
He has travelled extensively on the ocean, visiting off the beaten track destinations including Patagonia and French Polynesia.


Samantha Stewart

Johannesburg, South Africa

Sam is a happy-go-lucky lover of life, our planet and all its beauties. She smiles and laughs her way through each day. Her yachting career began in 2017 when she decided to venture out of her hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa and fly off to France. Since then she has had experience working in different parts of the world as a deckhand and as a stewardess, and is currently working towards obtaining her OOW. Being passionate about nature and conservation, she’s built her diving qualifications up to that of PADI Divemaster and enjoys getting involved in environmental projects. Sam loves being in and around the water and is always down for a swim and an adventure.
